Garden plots still OK

Posted on 1st Jul 2010 @ 3:24 PM

Plots on garden land will still get planning permisssion according to Planning Minister Greg Clark. Speaking to planning professionals he said: 'we have moved quickly to return to local planning authorities the ability to make a free choice of whether garden land should be developed or not'. The government removed brownfield status from gardens which means they are no longer considered as 'previously developed land'. However, a number of local authorities including Brighton have gone on record as saying they will still grant planning consent for garden plots where appropriate. If you are interested in getting planning permission for a garden plot or any other land or building take a look at Ovolo Book's How to Get Planning Permission - released late last year (2009) and which is packed full of uselful information.
